Remaining transactions in Dutch hoofdklasse

As we paid attention to Oosterhout Twins, HCAW, L&D Amsterdam Pirates, Curaçao Neptunus and Hoofddorp Pioniers, we now pay attention to the three remaining clubs in the Dutch hoofdklasse: DSS/Kinheim, Quick Amersfoort and Silicon Storks.

We start this anthology of transactions with DSS/Kinheim.

DSS/Kinheim, the cooperation between the two Haarlem-based clubs will continue until October 2021. The intention was to go for a merger between the two clubs, but due to COVID-19, the efforts were delayed.
The coop team saw seven players leave and added eight new player to its roster.

The players that left are:

Robyn Clara, who left for L&D Amsterdam Pirates, Steven van Groningen (HCAW), Al Morales Gomez (called it quits), Mitchel Dautzenberg (left for overgangsklasse club RCH-Pinguïns), Tino van Erk (didn’t leave the club but will play at a lower level), Kevin Nieveld (HCAW), and Jeldwin Orman (Hoofddorp Pioniers).

Almost all acquisitions come from overgangsklasse club Onze Gezellen that has to step down to a lower level of baseball as a result: pitchers Nick Boxelaar, Tom Stuifbergen, Milan van der Breggen. Infielders Seb Visser, Mick van Vliet and Milan Lammerts.

Only two players do not come from the ranks of Onze Gezellen: Catcher Daan Kuit, who is coming from Hoofddorp Pioniers and outfielder Jason Jacobus, who is coming from overgangsklasse club Wassenaar.

For sure the addition of Tom Stuifbergen and Seb Visser will make the club stronger but it is hard to say where the team stands right now. It has lost a lot of experienced hoofdklasse players.

The next club in this anthology is Quick Amersfoort.

Quick Amersfoort added a lot more players than it saw leave the club.

A lot of the new additions come from (the farm team of) HCAW in Bussum:

RHP Rick Jalvingh, RHP Johannes Veroen Garcia, C/1B Arthur Lugtmeijer, C/IF Mees Robberse, OF/IF Brandon Rijnbergen, and OF Pascal Zegwaard.

Two players come form their own ranks (farm team):

Infielders Glen Bus and Bas Wiers.

Other additions are:

Infielder Kaj Berkel, who left UVV from Utrecht, infielder Jurian Hansen (Silicon Storks), and Brian Biezen, who comes over from Oosterhout Twins.

Players that left the club are:

C/IF Jules Cremer, who has left for HCAW, IF Denzel Brooks (to Hoofddorp Pioniers), infielder Tijmen Takke and outfielder Roger Bernadina, both left for Curaçao Neptunus, and outfielder Joran Berkhout (to Silicon Storks).

It is also hard to tell where Quick Amersfoort stands now. It has lost several experienced players. It remains to be seen if the added players can carry the team.

The final team we pay attention to is Silicon Storks.

Silicon Storks Honkbal 1 - Posts | Facebook

Just like last year, Silicon Storks is hit hard. A lot of players left the club.

RHP John Michael Halley (to Hoofddorp Pioniers)
RHP José Moreno (to the farm team of the club)
RHP Diornick Sanchez has returned to Curaçao
RHP William Sowers returned to the USA
RHP Nick Winkel headed to Hoofddorp Pioniers

Catcher Jurriaan Dijk stepped down to the farm team and catcher Kestas Vilimas returned to Lithuania.

The following infielders turned their back on the club:

Joost van den Bergh (to the farm team of Hoofddorp Pioniers
Lejeune Francisca (left during the 2020 season)
Jurian Hansen left for Quick Amersfoort
Sydney Hoeverts (to overgangsklasse club Wassenaar)
Giovanny Perez left the club during the 2020 season
Brian Raap (hung up his spikes)
Jurnest Viginie (hung up his spikes as well)
Brian van der Vlist (to the farm team of the club).

Ouftielders Rubinet Koko (retired), Sergio Schoop (left during 2020 season), and Luuk Visser (to Oosterhout Twins) left the club.

The players that were added to the 2021 roster are:

Pitcher Obed Hernandez, comes from the third team of Curaçao Neptunus
RHP Darryl Jamoena (injured last year)
RHP Yerson Rosalina
Pitcher Jairo Samboek
RHP Kevin van Veen (who was on the roster of Orioles Bergschenhoek but did not play according to the stats on the website of the club)

Also added were catcher Yurdion Martie, infielders Joran Berkhout (Quick Amersfoort), Joshmar Doran, Jeandre Jacopucci, Gideon Ocalia and oufielders Tarich Capagnard and Darren Winklaar.

Quick also added a new assistant coach in the person of Yorick Henson.

With eighteen players turning their back on the club, Storks will likely be a candidate for the cellar of the hoofdklasse. With twelve, mostly unknown players in return, it remains a question of the club can survive the 2021 hoofdklasse.
