This is kind of old news (but still worth posting about) as the Hill City Howlers presented their new line of caps on October 19. A major improvement over the original cap the club introduced at the start of the season. In a previous post about the rebranding of the (former) Lynchburg Hillcats, yours truly…
On August 26, 2026, the Springfield Cardinals announced a rebranding. Away with the old Cardinals moniker, in with something new. Yesterday, the team announced a new moniker and new logos in a brand launch party. The new name of the Springfield Cardinals is Ozarks Spring Birds. Of course the name isn’t a referral to the…
In a press meeting, the Springfield Cardinals (AA affiliate of the St. Louis namesake) announced there won’t be any team with that name anymore after operating under that moniker for twenty-one years. But no worries, there will still be AA baseball in Springfield. Yes even a St. Louis Cardinals affiliation. The Springfield team announced it…
I bet every MiLB fan has seen the cap below. It is one of the alternate caps of the Jersey Shore Blue Claws. In this blog post I give my take on of what I think the cap stands for. Before the 2021 season, the club was called Lakewood Blue Claws. But in 2021, the…
In 2009, the Visalia Oaks changed their name, that was in use since 1977, into Visalia Rawhide. Here is the story about how the club got to that name. The name change will be effective on Monday, April 27. The Springfield Cardinals announced on April 23, that in conjunction with O’Reilly Auto Parts, the City…
On Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, the Springfield Cardinals will have another silly promotion: Halfway to Halloween. The club will play/played in special jerseys, created for the occasion. Promotions like this are very common in Minor League Baseball. Plenty of clubs celebrate “Christmas in June/July” with special jerseys as well. In this case…
In the fourth episode of “New MiLB Ballparks in 2026” we pay attention to Wilson Ballpark, home of the Wilson Warbirds (former Carolina Mudcats). Another case of an MLB club that insisted on adapting a ballpark to MLB standards without paying a dime. Fact was that the outdated ballpark in Zebulon didn’t have the opportunities…
Third episode in “New MiLB Ballparks in 2026.” This time we pay attention to the new ballpark of the Hillsboro Hops: Hillsboro Hops Ballpark. On April 10, the Hillsboro Hops moved into their brand new ballpark. You may wonder why they needed to move into something new as their previous ballpark was only thirteen years…
This is the third blog post about new MiLB ballparks that will open in the 2026 Minor League season. The third one is the new home of the Chattanooga Lookouts: Erlanger Park. After calling AT&T Field in Chattanooga their home for 25 years, the Lookouts moved into their new ballpark. Last night, the Reds’ AA…
