Strong season so far for Jakob Syrén

Former Dutch hoofdklasse pitcher, Jakob Syrén is having a great season so far with the Solingen Alligators. The tall Swede did not allow an earned run so far. Also today in the game vs the Untouchables Paderborn, Jakob kept the opponent from scoring.

After a solid season with a 2.74 ERA in the Dutch hoofdklasse in 2018, Jakob wasn’t offered a new contract by his former club, De Glaskoning Twins. Thanks to a blog post at the Dutch Baseball Hangout, Jakob signed with the Solingen Alligators eventually.

So far he will not regret the step as he is dominating the Bundesliga Nord. In five appearances (ten innings), Jakob gave up just six hits.

No photo description available.Today, the Solingen Alligators trailed 5-2 for five innings in game one of the doubleheader vs Untouchables Paderborn but in the sixth, Solingen’s offense exploded for six runs. Despite giving up five runs in seven innings, Dutchie Giovanni Tensen earned his third win of the season (3-1). Jakob entered the game in the seventh and gave up one hit and struck out four in two innings for his first save of the season.

With the numbers Jakob is putting up, De Glaskoning Twins may regret not signing him for the 2019 season as the current bullpen is rather shaky, to put it mildly.
