Today, Dutchie Jarreau Martina debuted with UnipolSai Bologna in the Serie A1. Against Rangers Redipuglia, the former Dutch hoofdklasse player played behind home plate all of the game and went 2 for 3 in the game.
With the game tied at one and two outs in the bottom of the second inning, Jarreau singled up the middle. Lorenzo Dobboletta tried to score all the way from first base but was thrown out 8-2.
In his second at-bat, in the fifth inning, Jarreau bunted on a 2-0 count to third base for a single. Apparently, his reputation of being a speedy guy was known by the Rangers from Redipuglia as their pitcher made six pickoff attempts but failed all the time.

On the defensive side, Jarreau guided the pitching staff of Bologna through the game. Andrea Pizziconi pitched 4.2 innings in which he gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk as he struck out four. Relief pitcher Claudio Scotti pitched 1.1 innings and gave up a walk and fanned three. Jarreau guided Alex Bassani to the win. In three innings, Bassani allowed a hit and struck out four.
The winning run of this first game of a doubleheader was scored by Ericson Leonora on a double by Alessandro Vaglio as Bologna won 3-2.
