Sergeant Pepper’s Mudhens
The Toledo Mudhens, AAA farm team of the Detroit Tigers in the International League will have Beatles tribute night on June 16 when the team dons jerseys with a Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band theme.
As a part of the flashback Fridays, the Mudhens will have a Beatles tribute night. On that night, the Mudhens will wear special jerseys that look like the jackets the Beatles wore on the cover of their Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
The album Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was released on June 1, 1967 and was an instant success as it spent 27 weeks on top of the British album charts and 15 weeks at nr. one in the US.
On June 16, the Mudhens will have a boy scout sleepover on the field and after the game there will be fireworks and there will be a Hard Days Night Beatles tribute at the Hensville entertainment center, across North St.Clair Street at Fifth Third Park, home of the Mudhens. If this all is not enough, there will be Beatles-themed contests too.
Even though the club revealed the jersey on Twitter, there was no word on an eventual auction of the jerseys and for which charity.
