At the age of seventeen, Darryl broke into professional baseball as he played for the Arizona Royals. In that 2019 season, he batted a respectable .320 with seven doubles, seven triples and twenty-five RBI.

Due to COVID-19, Darryl was forced to stay in the Netherlands, where he played with Neptunus once again. In a season that wasn’t finished because the Holland Series was cancelled at a 2-0 score in games in the favor of L&D Amsterdam Pirates, Darryl hit .352 in the regular season.

Darryl and the FireFlies will start the 2021 season on the road in a six-game series against the Augusta GreenJackets on May 4. On May 11, the FireFlies will have their home opener against the Charlotte RiverDogs.
