Sicnarf Loopstok, the player who won the MiLB moniker madness once, will start the 2018 season at a higher level than the previous season. The Cleveland Indians sent him to the AA Akron RubberDucks.
Last season, Sicnarf (Francis reversed) played at A-Advanced level with the Lynchburg Hillcats. The 24-year old Aruban was used as a utility player last year as he served time as a catcher (22 games), as a first baseman (59 games), third baseman (13) and as a left fielder (16). Overall, Sicnarf committed 13 errors on various positions, the most at first base, where played the most games.
This Spring Training, Sicnarf appeared in one game with the MLB squad of the Indians. He played first base but did not get an at-bat.
On the offensive side, Sicnarf batted a modest .249. Perhaps that is the reason, the Indians sent him down one level. Nevertheless, Sicnarf appeared in last year’s Carolina League All-Star Game.
2018 will be Sicnarf’s sixth season in his professional career that started in 2013 in the A-short season New York-Penn League with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.
You are right. My bad.
