Beneficiary Game For The Solingen Alligators
A few weeks ago, one could read here about the fire that demolished the batting cage of the Solingen Alligators. Fellow German 2. Bundesliga club, Dortmund Wanderers is doing its share to help the Alligators.

This coming Friday, June 20th, a special baseball event will take place at Dortmund’s Hoeschpark: The U15 teams of the Dortmund Wanderers and the Solingen Alligators will meet for a seven-inning charity game starting at 7:00 PM. The event is being held to support the reconstruction of the Solingen Alligators’ batting arena, which burned down on May 17th – all proceeds from the catering will benefit the club. In addition to exciting youth action on the field, visitors can expect a short pre-game program and an atmospheric evening under the floodlights, all dedicated to solidarity sports.
“The fire at the batting arena in Solingen was a severe blow for the Alligators and baseball in North Rhine-Westphalia. With this charity game, we want to stand together as a baseball community, help, and show that we are there for each other. We hope for many visitors to Hoeschpark who will join us in sending a strong signal of solidarity and help make reconstruction possible through their support of the catering,” said board member and U15 coach Dennis Rübenstahl.
The go fund me action is still running: https://www.gofundme.com/f/wiederaufbau-nach-dem-brand-helft-den-solingen-alligators
Even though the amount that has been raised is nice, the donations had slowed down a bit as it is stuck on €58,323.00 right now. If you are sympathetic to baseball, please donate.
