As we already knew which clubs would participate in the European Champions Cup, it was waiting for the grouping. Yesterday the CEB unveiled both groups A and B of the event in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Group A contains of the following clubs:
Curaçao Neptunus (Ned)
Fortitudo Bologna (Ita)
Heidenheim Heideköpfe (Ger)
Rouen Huskies (Fra)
Group B will contain of the following teams:
Arrows Ostrava (Cze)
ASD Nettuno Baseball City (Ita)
Bonn Capitals (Ger)
L&D Amsterdam Pirates (Ned)
The addition of reigning European and Italian champion Fortitudo Bologna will make group A the hardest of the two. Normally, the two clubs that will make it to the semi-finals are Bologna and Neptunus. Curaçao Neptunus is the Dutch runner up. The Rouen Huskies are the reigning (multiple) French champions as are the Heidenheim Heideköpfe for Germany.
In group B, L&D Amsterdam Pirates and ASD Nettuno Baseball City will be the teams that will advance to the semis, normally. But baseball can be an unpredictable game. In the 2018 edition of the ECC, L&D Amsterdam Pirates didn’t make it to the semis and had to play against relegation. Arrows Ostrava is the current Czech champion and so is L&D Amsterdam Pirates for the Netherlands. ASD Nettuno Baseball City is the Italian cup winner and the Bonn Capitals are the German runner up.
The event will take place in the first week of June.
