Jamie Flynn Joins Merchtem Cats

Jamie Flynn, a well known person the Belgian baseball scene, will join the Merchtem Cats for the 2026 season. Not only as coach, but in a variety of roles.

Through a message on their Instagram account, the Merchtem Cats announced that Jamie will join the club as sportive manager. In this role he will support all teams (including adults and youth teams) and together with all coaches a firm foundation for all teams.

Next to supporting all teams, he will become coach of the baseball flagship team in Division One. Which role this will be is up for discussion. Jamie and the club will look for the best role is best for the team.

Jamie Flynn stated to the Dutch Baseball Hangout after some questions asked: “For now, what can be acknowledged is that I will be a member of its flagship baseball team’s coaching staff as well as perform my duties throughout the clubs other levels from youth to including the flagship softball program.”

The Cats made a good move in joining forces with Jamie. He has quite some of experience when it comes to coaching. He coached the flagship teams of Phoenix Mont-Saint-Guibert before starting his own baseball school/academy “Youth Baseball Development.”
