Belgian Transactions For 2025: Brasschaat Braves
It’s that time of the year again to pay attention to the transaction in the Belgian Division 1. I intended to continue with the 2024 runner up, Deurne Spartans, but since the club had a lot of transactions, it will take a bit longer before I get them. Therefore we continue with the Brasschaat Braves.
The Brasschaat Braves did not add a lot of new players, but lost quite some.
The players that decided to leave or quit are Jamie Verheyleweghen (retirement), Yves Poesmans (to Oosterhout Twins in the Netherlands), Kelvin Delgado, and Raxton Martinez Miranda (both unknown).
Of the players that were added, one may be called a big surprise. As you could read in the article about the Hoboken Pioneers, Lino Ballardini has decided to return to the club he left in 2022, but the biggest surprise of them all is…. (drum roll)… Thomas de Wolf. The slugger who retired after the 2022 season, has decided to return to baseball with the Brasschaat Braves.
The arrival of Thomas de Wolf may come as a surprise to many. Besides his international career in the US, Germany, and Italy, he played the bulk of his career for Hoboken Pioneers.
According to Kris Beekmans, Braves will acquire two import players; one pitcher and a utility player.
A big thank you goes out to coach Kris Beekmans, who provided the much needed information to write this blog post.
