With the Belgian transaction period well behind us, it is time to have a look at the players that were acquired by and left the various Division 1 clubs in Belgium. Today, we pay attention to the runner-up in the 2021 Belgian championship: Brasschaat Braves.

From yesterday’s post, we know already about second baseman Lino Ballardini leaving Brasschaat for Hoboken Pioneers and catcher Jamie Peeters leaving Hoboken for Brasschaat Braves.
When approaching manager Kevin Peeters, he provided me with the following additional information.
The Braves acquired Cuban middle infielder Raxon Martinez. There are no stats to be found from this player as he only played for the Mortsel Stars in the second half of the season, the Division 1 Silver League (bottom five teams). But he must be able to contribute, otherwise, the Braves would not have acquired him.
Another player that is leaving the club is Stefan Schoonheydt. He did have a spot on the roster of the flagship team but didn’t get much playing time. In total, he had 6 at-bats in which he collected one hit. He played (a part of) one game in left field but no ball was hit in his direction. Stefan will look for greener pastures in the Netherlands as he will join Oosterhout Twins.
According to Kevin Peeters, the Braves will look for one foreign pitcher to reinforce their pitching staff.
I’d like to thank manager Kevin Peeters for providing the much-needed information that enabled me to write this blog post which was brought to you by
