Vancouver Canadians Opting For Hillsboro As Their Hometown To Start The Season.

In a statement on Twitter, the Vancouver Canadians (High A, Toronto Blue Jays) have announced they will start the season in Hillsboro instead of Vancouver.

Due to the corona measures of the Canadian government, which closes the US-Canadian border, the only Canadian team in the Northwest League was forced to look for a home south of the Border. Just like the Toronto Blue Jays, who are opting for the ballpark of the Buffalo Bisons to be their home ballpark, the Canadians decided to call Hillsboro their temporary home.

The question remains why Hillsboro? It is located near Portland, which is a bit more than 330 miles (532 km) from Vancouver. If they club would have opted for Everett, they would have been much closer to home, less than half of the aforementioned distance.

The Canadians are working on plans for a safe return to their home ballpark, Nat Bailey Stadium.
