The CEB (European Baseball Confederation) has announced the dates of next year’s international tournaments. If the Corona measures will allow it, the first international tournament will be the European Champions Cup.
The ECC will be played in Ostrava, Czech Republic from May 25 through May 30, 2021. The Netherlands will be represented by Curaçao Neptunus and L&D Amsterdam Pirates even though none of these teams was named champion since the 2020 Holland Series were cancelled due to COVID-19. The KNBSB decided earlier this year that both teams would represent the Netherlands in 2021.
Four European Championships will be played in several age groups: The U12 in Mortsel, Belgium, the U15 (no location appointed yet), the U18 in Macerata, Italy, and the U23 (no location appointed yet).
The European Championship baseball for ladies will take place from July 28 through July 31. Also no location has been appointed for this tournament yet.
For the Dutch national team, two important tournaments are on the agenda: The final Olympic Qualifier. And the European Championship that will be played in Italy (Turin, Avigliana en Settimo Torinese). The tournament will be held from September 11 through September 19.
The 2021 CEB cup wil be played in the same week as the ECC. Sénart, France will be the host of the tournament. Last year the Confederation Cup would have been hosted by Brasschaat. It remains to be seen if the club will be appointed the tournament again and if the tournament will be played.
