Owen Ozanich to return to Parma for the season

According to Grandeslam.net, French national team player Owen Ozanich will return to Parmaclima for the 2020 season. Originally, Ozanich had signed with the Montpellier Barracudas for 2020 but as the French season has been cancelled due to the coronavirus, he is free to join any club he wants.

It was Ozanich himself who approached Parmaclima baseball. After a good experience last year and the French season cancelled, he is willing to return to the cheese city.

Ozanich’s availability will depend on the healing of his leg. After he was severely injured with last year’s European Champions Cup, recently some iron plates were removed from his leg. It will take six to eight weeks before he can return to action. So with a bit of luck, Ozanich can be available at the start of the SerieA1 season on July 10. But according to his own comments on Facebook, it will take Owen until August to return as he needs to get in shape and throw some pitches to get his arm strength back.

With Parma, Owen pitched in five games, of which one start. He recorded one win and two losses and posted a 3.86 ERA. In 18.2 innings, Owen fanned eighteen batters, walked only four, and allowed eleven runs of which eight were earned.
