Today, on the first day of their fanfest, the Pittsburgh Pirates presented their 2020 jerseys. Like so many clubs, the Bucs lifted the veil a little bit at Instagram as they showed their alternate black jersey first.
The new black alternate road jersey shows the script the Pirates’ jerseys of the nineties were sporting. The black alternate road jersey sports a yellow-black line around the neck and the bottom of the sleeves.
Next to the black alternate road jersey, the club unveiled the new road jersey. The usual gray but also with the throwback script and the yellow-black trim around the neck and the bottom of the sleeves.
Both jerseys sport a pirate head on the left sleeve. The head at the black alternate wears a yellow bandana, the one at the regular road jersey wears a red one.
The position of the word Pittsburg is slightly different than on the nineties’ jerseys. The nineties jerseys had the break of the word Pittsburg was right between the S and the B. The break on the current jerseys is at the S.
Like the nineties jerseys, the script has a yellow outline.
