More reinforcements for De Glaskoning Twins
Lately, De Glaskoning Twins made some extra acquisitions to reinforce themselves. Today another one was presented. Japanese outfielder Yuki Yoshimura, who played in the organization of reigning NPB champ Softbank Hawks.
Next to the Softbank Hawks, Yoshimura played for the DeNA BayStars from Yokohama.
Besides playing as an outfielder, Yoshimura can also play first base so he can serve as a backup for regular first baseman Jamie Verheyleweghen.
Yuki Yoshimura is not just an outfielder. He has 15 years of NPB experience under his belt. He broke into the NPB in 2003 with the DeNA BayStars where he played for nine seasons before he switched leagues (Central to Pacific) and moved to the Softbank Hawks where he played for six seasons. 2018 was his final season in the NPB. He finished that season with a .204 batting average as he belted four home runs and four doubles. In general, his batting average was on the low side. Only in 2006 he batted above .300 (.311) and came close in 2014 as he batted .296. In 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 he clearly had some pop in his bat as he hit 26, 24, 36 and 16 dingers respectively.
Over 15 seasons Yoshimura slashed .251/.312/.422.
