Another Dutch kid heads to NJCAA college
Milan van der Breggen, a RHP will be another Dutch kid that heads to the United States to join a (community) college. After finishing the regular season in the Netherlands, Milan will go to Indian Hills Community College during Fall 2019.
The 17-year old youngster, who will turn 18 in April has played for various teams in the Netherlands. He started his “career” with Flying Petrels from Purmerend (about 25 km North of Amsterdam). Then he joined a team called Nighthawks, a combination team of several clubs from the Province of Noord Holland: Bears (from Bergen), Alcmaria Victrix (from Alkmaar), Double Stars (from Heiloo) and Flying Petrels.

Pretty soon it became clear that Milan was talented as the baseball academy in Haarlem, the Rabbits, asked him to join them in 2016. In 2017 and 2018 he moved up to a higher age group. In 2018 he played for the second team of DSS (overgangsklasse) next to playing for the Rabbits. During the upcoming season, Milan will play for the flagship team of Onze Gezellen, one of the many baseball clubs in Haarlem. Onze Gezellen is also playing in the overgangsklasse, one level below the hoofdklasse. Next to pitching, Milan is also capable of playing first base.
At Indian Hills Community College, Milan will study an Arts & Sciences study in which he will focus on Public Relations and Organizational Communication next to baseball science 😉
Indian Hills Community College is the same school where Dave Janssen, the former catcher of De Glaskoning Twins, is playing. Perhaps he and Milan can form a nice battery.
Milan has the intention to attend an NCAA college after the two years he will spend at Indian Hills. Being drafted by an MLB team is not realistic according to Milan unless he manages to throw 90mph or more.
The Dutch Baseball Hangout wishes Milan a lot of success at the other side of the Big Pond.
