It took a while but The Dutch Baseball Hangout has reached the magical milestone of a 1000 followers. Since the start of this blog in August 2014, first under the moniker of yankeebiscuitfan’s Dutch Blog but now know as Dutch Baseball Hangout, it grew slowly but steadily.

Schermafbeelding 2018-05-29 om 14.56.47 I’d like to thank everyone who visits this site on a regular basis and also those who has liked the website itself or through Facebook or Twitter.

I’d also like to thank the advertisers for making it possible to run this website.

I will continue to write baseball-related posts as often as possible.

Thank you very much!!! Your support is appreciated.

  1. Having coached almost 40 years, including a few in Europe, I wasn’t terribly impressed with your site at the start because Dutch baseball isn’t very important to me.

While you and I have had disagreements regarding European and Dutch baseball in the past, I continued watching. Lo and behold, DutchBaseballHangout has become an important resource to me!

Today, for instance: I read the articles on Nike replacing Under Armour as the MLB vendor. (How many people can even convince Sports Business Journal to provide access?) I read of the changes to the Australian Baseball League, and was touched by the song, “A Brand New Game”.

DutchBaseballHangout, in addition to covering baseball in Holland and the former colonies in the Caribbean, constantly uncovers some little gem about the game elsewhere.

Having had careers in journalism and marketing, I realize how much effort it takes to bring those not-often-reported insights to your readers. I want you to know how much it is appreciated. And that the hard work is respected.

Your site has become a genuine resource for baseball people everywhere. Please keep up the good work. And thank you.
