Second case of doping at Curaçao Neptunus
About a month and a half after Curaçao Neptunus’ Urvin Kemp was suspended because of alleged PED use. Earlier this week, strong rumors about a second player swirled around. And indeed a second player of Curaçao Neptunus has been suspended. In this case Christian Diaz.

After I was informed about the rumors, I did some research and got a confirmation from within Curaçao Neptunus. It was my intention to write about it as soon Curaçao Neptunus would send out a press release, but now the Dutch baseball website 9innings.nl has published an article about the issue, so there is no need to wait any longer.
9innings got a confirmation from the Christian Diaz himself. As Diaz stated, the positive doping test must have been caused by a wrong dose of a food supplement. Together with Neptunus, Diaz is still investigating the matter.
Christian Diaz is one of the outfielders of Curaçao Neptunus. In several of the past seasons, he was the best hitter of the Dutch hoofdklasse. This year his numbers are still good but they do not stand out: .359 / . 504/ .419.
Christian Diaz also stated on the website 9innings.nl, he would admit immediately if he would have used PEDs deliberately.
Anyhow, Diaz received a letter from the KNBSB in which is said he will be suspended. The letter does not tell a time frame though.
