Curacao Neptunus bolsters lineup with Randolph Oduber
Former Washington Nationals farmhand Randolph Oduber, who was released by the Nats early April, will bolster the ranks of Curacao Neptunus, the current Dutch and European Champion.
Randolph signed with the Nationals in 2010 and worked his way up through the minor league system of the Nats. But he got stuck at AA. After an invitation to MLB Spring Training, in which he played two games for the MLB squad of the Nats, he was released.
As a career minor leaguer, Randolph hit a career .268 at four different levels. Through the years, Randolph has played 24 games for team Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Randolph was tipped by former team mate and Neptunus relief pitcher Kevin Kelly.
Randolph commented on his move to Rotterdam:
“I am very happy that I have a chance to play again. It was not easy leaving the States, but if that is God’s plan we have to work with it. I am really excited to play with Neptunus and looking forward for a big year and of course another championship year.
Kevin Kelly was the one that put me in contact with the ball-club. I know that Neptunus is not only a good club, but they are serious about their business. That is what made me make the decision of joining.”
Curacao Neptunus already had a slick line up, but with the 27-year old Aruban, the team will get even stronger. Oduber is a fine defensive outfielder who had a perfect score during the 2015 season that was limited due to a nagging injury.
Randolph will join the team on Tuesday May 24, so he will be in time for the clash between Curacao Neptunus and L&D Amsterdam Pirates. Randolph will also be eligible to play in the upcoming European Cup as he did not play any official game for one of the Nationals’ farm teams.
