ABL: Van Mil shows that he’s human

In the third game of the Adelaide Bite vs the Canberra Cavalry, Loek van Mil blew his first save and was tabbed with his first loss of the season.
Van Mil entered the game in the top of the eighth inning with a 6-5 lead, with a runner on third and two outs. Bryan Pounds pounded a 1-1 offering over the left field fence and took Aaron Sayers with him to give the Cavalry a 7-6 lead.
In the next inning he gave up another hit but also struck out two to bring his total of Ks to three in this game.
Bryan Pounds was the best hitter for the Cavalry as he went 1 for 1 after he enered the game as a pinch runner.
The Sydney Blue Sox collected as many hits as the Brisbane Bandits but still lost 3-0. The Bandits broke the game open in the fifth inning as they scored a run. One inning later Brisbane scored two more on two singles and a triple. Rick Teasly earned the win as he lasted six innings in which he gave up seven hits and struck out four. Lachlan Wells took the loss by allowing one run on three hits in five innings.
The Melbourne Aces may need the coaching of George Brett coming weekend as they lost this game vs the Perth Heat by three runs.
Perth scored three in the third inning on a double by Sam Kennelly and a homerun by Anthony Canoria. Tad Gold scored from third base on a sac fly by Correlle Prime to center field.
Nick Veale lasted 8.2 innings for the Heat for the win. He gave up five hits, walked two and struck out one.
