In the series “Summing up the Dutchies per MLB organization” it is time to pay attention to the:
Number of Dutchies: 1
This will be one of the shortest episodes in this series. The only Dutchie who is playing with the Cleveland Indians is
Sicnarf Loopstok:
Sicnarf signed a contract with the Cleveland Indians in 2013. His name is actually Francis spelled backwards. The 22-year old catcher from Aruba probably started to play with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the A Short Season New York – Penn League. Apparently the Indians had high hopes with him. In 2014 he split the season between the AZL Indians and the Lake County Captains of the Midwest League.
So far his 2015 is one that moved him through various Minor League levels. He played with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. In five games he batted .214. With the Lake County Captains he played fourteen games in which he batted .186. Currently he is playing for the Lynchburg HillCats in the A Advanced Carolina League. With that team he has played nineteen games so far and he is hitting .217. His main position is catcher as mentioned above, but he has played in left field and as DH with the HillCats as well. In one game in left field he did not commit an error and made a putout and an assist. As a catcher he played seventeen games with the HillCats he has made three errors and has thrown out 35% of the potential base stealers. Sicnarf started the season with the Lake County Captains but due to disappointing results at bat he was demoted to the New York – Penn League. After five days with the Scrappers he was sent to A Advanced, where he is still playing.
In 2013 his name was a big thing in the Moniker Madness of milb.com. He won the contest of remarkable names in that year. His family name Loopstok actually means walking-cane.
