Themed jersey craze goes on

The other day I wrote about crazy promotions at Minor League clubs and the silly jerseys that are linked to these promotions. Well the end of this jersey craze doesn’t seem to be near.

Yesterday the Durham Bulls announced that they will sport a Game of Thrones jersey on April 23.  About three weeks ago the Round Rock Express announced a complete series of themed jerseys that they will wear on special occasions in the upcoming season. On Friday April 24, the Express wll wear a March of Dimes jersey. The jersey will be auctioned after the game. Other jerseys that will be sported are: Lou Gehrig pinstripes (June 19), Hawaiian shirts (June 20), dreaded Christmas sweaters (July 24) and tributes to both our military (May 25) and breast cancer awareness (July 10).

The Wisconsin TimberRattlers will also wear a couple of themed jerseys. A popular theme that can be seen at many other clubs too is Star Wars. The TimberRattlers will sport a C3PO jersey on June 6. On Sunday home games the Rattlers will wear Milwaukee Brewers themed jerseys. Other themed jersey dates are: May 30 (Appleton Foxes throwbacks), June 4 (Salute to Cows), July 4 and 5 (Military appreciation).

The Frisco RoughRiders, who recently changed their looks completely, will sport a Full House themed jersey on June 12. One of the actors of the popular sitcom from the 90s, Dave Coulier, will be visiting Dr. Pepper Ballpark.

Most of these themed jerseys are made by OT Sports, located in Burlington, North Carolina. This company is the manufacturer of the replica jerseys of most of the MiLB clubs.

How much I like the creativity of the Minor League clubs with this, I must admit that this craze is getting out of control.
