Jenny Finch first female to manage pro baseball team
Jenny Finch is perhaps the best known sofball player in the world. She played for the Arizona Wildcats and won the 2001 NCAA College World Series with the team. With team USA, the pitcher/1B won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Jenny debuted with the Chicago Bandits of the National Pro Fastpitch in 2005. In that season she pitched her first no-hitter. In 2007 Jenny struck out the most hitters in a game (combined with team mate Cat Osterman). In 2007 she set the record of the lowest ERA in the NPF, a microscopic 0.10. She recorded two perfect games in her NPF career: in 2009 vs the Philadelphia Force and in 2010 vs the Akron Racers.
3-1 W for @BPTBluefish today! Pitchers kept us in it, battled tough on the hill. https://t.co/K27qKsPhaF

Yesterday Jenny served as the first female (on field) manager of a professional team when
she managed the Bridgeport Bluefish to a 3-1 victory over the Southern Maryland
BlueCrabs in an Atlantic League (independent) matchup. Finch was serving as the team guest-manager, and joined Paul O’Neill and Peter Rose as the team’s only guest-skipper.
Next to guiding the team, Jenny also threw out the first pitch and had some talks with the fans.
For $45 fans could have a meet and greet with the guest manager.
