Yankees and Dutchies in Spring Training, Tuesday March 17

A bit late. But better late than never. Due to health issues I will post a little bit les frequent in the coming days/weeks.

The Yankees fell to the Blue Jays 4-2. The only regular big leaguers that collected a hit were Carlos Beltran (1 for 3 with a double) and Mark Teixeira who hit a homerun, his sole hit out of three at bats.
Didi Gregorius went 0 for 2, struck out once and left two runners on base. It was CC Sabathia’s first start of the Spring Training. In two innings he allowed two runs on four hits and fanned two. Gregorius made some nice plays. A relay throw to home plate to nail Travis at home plate and a really nice sliding stop.

In a game that ended with an 11-11 tie, Shawn Zarraga entered the game as a defensive substitution as a catcher. In his sole at bat he grounded out to first base on the first pitch he saw.

Matt den Dekker was a defensive substitution in the eighth inning. He struck out in his sole at bat in the bottom of that inning. Oh, the Mets beat Miami 6-4.

The Braves beat up the Red Sox 11-3. Andrelton Simmons hit three singles out of four at bats, drove in three runs and scored one himself. Xander Bogaerts went 2 for 3 with a double and a single and he struck out once and left one runner on base.
