Little League’s own “deflate gate”?

On the website of ESPN there is an article about an alleged scam by the 2014 winner of the Little League World Series American Title, Great Lakes (Jackie Robinson West). The team is accused by an official with a suburban athletic organization of violating
residency rules by bringing in suburban players to improve its roster.
I know how extremely strict the rules are. My nephew and niece both played in the preliminary rounds in the Netherlands. As a parent you have to show official documents (or copies of them) that your kids are really living in the area that they are representing.
Jackie Robinson West will be under investigation in the coming weeks and the Chicago Little League organization will discuss the case. Little League International declared that it has not found any violations of the rules, but they do not rule out a re-opening of the investigation.
Jackie Robinson West was hot news when they won. The team was the first all-African American team that ever won a LL World Series American Title. The team was invited at the White House for it.
Little League Chicago will not comment until more is clear. The coaches of the team have declared that they did not do anything wrong.
To be continued…
