Dutch transfer period expired
Since the final pitch was thrown in the Holland Series, on October 12, Dutch fans have been waiting for the transfer period to close. Today was the day. At 17.00 (5.00 PM), the deadline ended.
Not every transfer is known yet, but right now we can say that HCAW from Bussum is the big loser of the transfer period.

As I expected, current champion DOOR Neptunus didn’t make many moves (never change a winning team). The team acquired one pitcher: Belgian national team player Kenny van den Branden left his 2014 team UVV from Utrecht. For that team he achieved a 2.70 ERA during the regular competition.
DOOR Neptunus saw three players leave: Rightfielder Daniel Fernandes left for Vaessen Pioniers from Hoofddorp. In the regular competition he collected 28 hits (BA of .246) but in the play offs he sported a .323 batting average. Aldrich Guzman and Omar Williams will leave the club from Rotterdam as well. Guzman will head for HCAW from Bussum and Williams will join UVV. Both players mainly played for the farm team of Neptunus, the Tridents.

As told above, UVV from Utrecht saw several players leave (pitcher Kenny van den Branden (DOOR Neptunus), Phil Ortez (Corendon Kinheim from Haarlem), Nick Peels, Giovanni Samboe and Duko Jansen decided to play for lower division teams. But the club from Utrecht acquired a couple of newbies too. Pitcher Timo van Ancum comes from AdoLakers (the Hague). Infielders Tony Enos (Mampaey The Hawks) and Omar Williams (DOOR Neptunus) decided to join the club from Utrecht too. But maybe the biggest surprise is the acquisition of Belgian national team player Jamie Verheyleweghen. The the first baseman played for Twins from Oosterhout (Overgangsklasse, one step below the Hoofdklasse) last season. UVV managed to keep Dutch national team player Gilmer Lampe in their ranks as well.

AdoLakers acquired twelve(!) new players.
Pitchers: Tim Roodenburg comes from DSS from Haarlem, the team that earned a promotion last season. Evan Simons comes from Mampaey The Hawks, the team that lost to DSS in the play downs, just like Kevin van Veen and Jose Moreno. AdoLakers also acquired two pitchers from Overgangsklasse teams. Other new acquisitions are Raoell Kortstam, Chris Williams (Vaessen Pioniers), Jules Peters (Mampaey The Hawks) and Justin Martinus (Corendon Kinheim).
Twelve new players is quite a lot. You can wonder if the club from The Hague has any own farm teams or youth teams to get players from.

Like I said in the prologue, HCAW from Bussum is the biggest loser of the transfer period. Not only did they lose their sponsor (Mr. Cocker, a tearoom chain) but also saw eleven player leave the club.
Venezuelan pitcher Ivan Granados will not return just like Jorin van Amstel, Tom de Blok, Linoy Croes, Robin Schel (all leave forL&D Amsterdam) and Kevin Weijgertse (Vaessen Pioniers). Jasper Keijzer will head to Corendon Kinheim, Sergino Martis (to UVV), Levine Gabriels (to DSS), Dillon True (DSS) and Daley Paalvast (calls it a career).
Besides the players that left, HCAW acquired six new players. Together with new manager, former Major Leaguer Ralph Milliard, Brian Biezen, Rikkert Kempen and Jarreau Martina will move from Twins in Oosterhout to the club in Bussum.

Besides the aforementioned players that were acquired by L&D Amsterdam, the club saw several players leave. The De Jong brothers (Bas and Jos) left for Eerste klasse (two levels lower than Hoofdklasse) team Quick Amersfoort. Pitcher Jurrian Koks left for Overgangsklasse team Storks from The Hague to become their manager.
Persy Isenia and Bjorn Hato called it a career while it is not clear where pitcher Chris Mowday went.

Corendon Kinheim from Haarlem added six and saw six leave. The players that came to Haarlem are pitcher Scott Ronneberg (from Vaessen Pioniers), catcher Dexter de Weert (HCAW farm team), infielder Vincent Draijer (from RCH-Pinguins, Overgangsklasse team), infielder Kevin Moesquit (from Mampaey The Hawks), outfielder Jasper Keijzer (from HCAW), designated hitter Philip Ortez (from UVV). Four players call it a career: pitcher Jean-Paul Gulinck, catcher Sander Paap, infielders Rene Cremer and Bjorn Henrichs. Outfielder/catcher Quintin de Cuba left for Vaessen Pioniers and outfielder Bruce Martinus left for AdoLakers.

Vaessen Pioniers from Hoofddorp saw only four players join the club compared to the seven that left.
Quintin de Cuba (Corendon Kinheim), Kevin Weijgertse (HCAW) and Daniel Fernandes (DOOR Neptunus) joined their ranks. The club added a new pitching coach as well: Eric de Vries.
Three players hung up their spikes: catcher Mark Duursma, first baseman/DH De Flanegin and infielder Zerzinho Croes. Pitchers Scott Ronneberg (Corendon Kinheim), Steven van Groningen (HCAW), catcher Shane Boeree (DSS from Haarlem) and outfielder Chris Williams (AdoLakers) left for new teams.

DSS from Haarlem added eight new players to their roster.
Pitcher/ outfielder Kevin Bosch (L&D Amsterdam farm team), pitcher Mark van Deursen (Corendon Kinheim Rookies farm team), pitcher Mike Groen (L&D Amsterdam farm team), catcher Shane Boeree (Hoofddorp Pioniers), catcher Levine Gabriels (HCAW), infielder Mark Smit and outfielder Lex Leijenaar (both RCH-Pinguïns) and outfielder Dillon True (HCAW).
