Dutchies in the Major Leagues: Sunday September 14, 2014
It looks like the Braves have lost it completely. Last night they lost from the team with the worst W-L record in MLB, the Texas Ranger: 3-10. Andrelton Simmons went 1 for 4 and left two runners on base. On the defensive side, Simmons was the initiator of two 6-4-3 double plays.
Kenley Jansen clinched his 42nd save by retiring the side and striking out two. The Dodgers beat the Giants 4-2.
Xander Bogaerts had a monster game at bat. In four at bats he connected for three basehits (one of them was a three run homer). He drove in four runs, scored two himself and was the center piece of a 1-6-3 double play.
The Diamondbacks beat the Padres 8-6. Didi Gregorius had his share at bat in this victory. Didi went 2 for 4, drove in a run and scored two himself.
Jonathan Schoop was the only Dutchie without a hit last night. He went 0 for 3 and left two runners on base in the O’s 3-2 win over the Yankees.
