In this episode of “Summing up the Dutchies”, a team where only one Dutchie is playing in the low minors. Today I will shed light on: Number of Dutchies: 1 Alex Rodriguez: No this is not about Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees. This is about Alex Rodriguez from Willemstad on…
The Yankees needed twelve innings to seal a victory over the Rays at Yankee Stadium. Masahiro Tanaka took the mound for the Yankees and didn’t look good in the first inning as he gave up two doubles and a walk that gave Tampa Bay a 2-0 lead. After the first inning he settled down as…
The last couple of days the Yankees showed some uninspired baseball, sloppy defense and dormant bats. A couple of times they lost with big numbers.Especially at bat they looked like Pedro Cerrano from the movie Major League. Apparently they have given up on Jobu 😉 . All of a sudden they knew how to hit…
The Yankees won their third game of the four game homestand vs the Baltimore Orioles. The Yanks outscored the Orioles 6-2 despite having as many hits as the team from Baltimore. As the team performed well, there was one played that had a stellar outing: Michael Pineda. The 6′ 7″ (2 meter) giant fanned sixteen…

Where the Houston Astros made the first step of what would become the Venezuelan Summer League, the league had more than twenty MLB clubs with an affiliation in the late 1990s. After the Seattle Mariners left their facility near…

The year started with not much faith in this Yankee team from my side. Still I don’t think that they will be a contender but after the series vs the Tigers, there is some belief coming. First the close loss with a very good outing by C.C. Sabathia. Then the 5-2 win on Tuesday and…
Those who do not know me may wonder where the part Biscuit in my moniker comes from. I think that with this article that part will be explained. The Tampa Bay Rays have announced the opening day roster of their AA farm team, the Montgomery Biscuits, playing in the Southern League. The team will be…
Yesterday’s game between the Rays and the Yankees looked like an April Fools joke. The story line was the Yankees’ ineptness to hit. In nine innings, the Yankees collected the whopping total of four basehits; only Brett Gardner, Carlos Beltran, Ramon Flores and Mark Teixeira got a hit. The pitching didn’t really do a bad…
With the two upcoming exhibition games between the Cincinnati Reds and the Toronto Blue Jays in Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, Montreal shows that it is craving for MLB baseball. Especially with more than 80,000 ticket sold. Last year 96,350 tickets were sold for the two exhibition games between the Blue Jays and the New York Mets….
