Belgian Division One Transactions For 2026: Hoboken Pioneers
In the third episode of “Belgian Division One Transactions For 2026” we pay attention to the team that finished on top of the 2025 standings in the regular season but didn’t make it to the championship game: Hoboken Pioneers.

Except for two players, Hoboken Pioneers managed to keep its 2025 roster in tact. Catcher Ken Spurgeon returns to the Brussels Kangaroos after a three-year absence, and Rob Lewis will hang up his cleats. Lewis will join the pitching staff though, as first base coach and catching coach.

Four new players were added and according to manager T.J. Antonacci, they will impact the roster immediately: Frank Prieto Burgos (OF, Merchtem Cats), Jamie Peeters (C, Brasschaat Braves), Jeremy Boyeleba (P, didn’t play for three seasons due to work obligations), and Matevz Vodopivec (INF, Leuven Twins (Division three)).
The additions (except Jeremy Boyeleba) posted the following numbers in 2025:
Frank Prieto Burgos: 2025 season – .433 AVG, 5 HR and 38 RBI’s in 29 games
Jamie Peeters: 2025 season – .329 AVG, 27 RBI’s in 25 games.
Matevz Vodopivec: 2025 season – .600 AVG, 16 RBI’s in 11 games
T.J. Antonacci stated: “With the additions that we made, on top of us being able to sign our complete roster, we are confident that we will be just as strong as the years before heading into the 2026 season.”
I’d like to thank T.J. Antonacci for the much needed information that I needed to write this blog post.
