Dashenko Ricardo on Saltdog’s disabled list

The Lincoln Saltdogs of the independent American Association has placed their catcher Dashenko Ricard on the disabled list, retroactive to August 13.

The Curaçao native and player of team Kingdom of the Netherlands injured his foot lastAfbeeldingsresultaat voor Dashenko Ricardo Saltdogs Sunday as he fouled off a pitch in the first at-bat of the third inning. After being examined by the trainer, he played on and hit a go-ahead home run. In his next at-bat in the fifth inning, he fouled off another pitch of his foot and was taken out of the game.

So far this season, Ricardo hit a respectable .295 with five home runs and 30 RBIs over 63 games.

Ricardo is in his second season at the American Association. Last season he also played for the Lincoln Saltdogs and hit .270 with six home runs and 29 runs batted in.

To fill the void, the Saltdogs have signed the 22-year old Jackson Pritchard. Pritchard joins the Saltdogs after splitting time between the travel teams in the Can-Am League. The righty played in 17 games for Salina and Hollywood and hit .176 with one RBI. He caught three runners stealing and made just one error in the Can-Am League.

Pritchard also played 27 games for the Roswell Invaders in the Pecos League this season. He hit .294 with five homers and 25 RBIs for the club. He hit .243 with five homers in 33 games for Roswell in 2017.
