On the second day of round 13, the game between L&D Amsterdam Pirates and Meerlease Pioniers was canceled due to poor field conditions. Curaçao Neptunus hosted Silicon Storks, DSS hosted Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort and HCAW headed to Oosterhout to take on De Glaskoning Twins.

Silicon Storks  0  –  20  Curaçao Neptunus
Afbeeldingsresultaat voor Silicon Storks After the first inning, the game was a formality as Neptunus had taken a 6-0 lead already. In this very lopsided game, Neptunus scored five more runs in the fourth inning and nine in the sixth to end the game in seven mercy rule innings. Diegomar Markwell pitched five innings for the win. He gave up two hits and a walk and struck out one.
Martin Kram lasted 3.1 innings and gave up the improbable number of ten earned runs on eight hits and five walks. One would expect that with a score like this the game would have been a slugfest, but Quintin de Cuba hit the only home run for Neptunus that droveNeptunus in four runs. For the Neptunus batters, it was like batting practice as the team collected eighteen hits. Best hitter was Shaldimar Daantji as he went 3 for 4 with three runs batted in and four runs scored.

Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort  2  –  12  DSS
For three innings, Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort could have the illusion it could take the win with them back to Amersfoort but in the fifth inning and the following ones, their hopes were smashed. After DSS took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, Quick Amersfoort countered by scoring a run in the second and the third innings. But in the fifth inning, Quick’s offense collapsed and DSS could score thrice. A walk, a throwing error, a muffed throw, a sac fly and a single gave the team from Haarlem the opportunity to score three more runs.
In the eighth inning, DSS pushed for five more runs to end the game prematurely as the ten run margin appeared on the scoreboard and the game ended due to the mercy rule. DSS
Scott Prins pitched seven solid innings for the win, in which he gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks and struck out six.
Best hitter for DSS was Devano Pieter, who went 2 for 2 with two runs scored.

HCAW  4  –  6  De Glaskoning Twins
With the win of DSS, it was a must-win situation for De Glaskoning Twins. In the firstHCAW inning, the team from Oosterhout took an early 2-0 lead. But once again, the team wasn’t able to cling on to this 2-0 lead. In the third inning, a passed ball and a blown double play next to two singles and a double, helped HCAW to take a one-run lead. After this bad inning, Twins looked like it had given up hope. But all of a sudden in the seventh inning, the team caught fire. A series of bunts put runners on the bases before Brian Biezen drove in the game-tying run with a single to right field. A double by Jarreau Martina and a single by Dennis de Quint drove in three more runs to give Twins a three-run lead.  Misja Harcksen, who had pitched a fantastic game was pulled in the ninth after 118 pitches as he had given up a walk to Jeandro Tromp. Thijs Steenwijk, who replaced him, started with a walk as well. After he retired Delano Selassa on a strikeout and Seb Visser on a fly out, manager Kevin Knollenburg made a surprising move by giving Vince Rooi an intentional walk that loaded the bases. Thanks to this move, HCAW had the winning run at first base. But eventually, the move panned out well as Thijs Steenwijk struck out Bryce Cherry for the final out of the game. Twins
Misja Harcksen earned the win and Thijs Steenwijk earned the save. Kaj Timmermans took the loss after 6.2 innings in which he allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and a walk as he struck out three.
No one in the Twins lineup got more than one base hit. Dennis de Quint (1 for 3) had the most impact with two runs batted in.
