As expected Shawn Zarraga was sent to Minor League camp by the Dodgers on Monday. Despite a good Spring Training in which he was mainly used as DH. But using a DH in the National League is like using skates on water.

The Aruban catcher collected ten hits in ten games and nineteen at bats (.526). He served as a catcher in only four games. As a catcher his defense is darn good, but throwing out base runners is a weakness. During this Spring Training, there was one base stolen on one attempt. During his minor league career, he threw out only 24% of the potential base stealers, not a high perentage.
It is expected that Shawn will start with AAA Oklahoma City.
Also Jurickson Profar was sent down to Minor League camp by the Rangers yesterday. This Spring Training, Jurickson struggled mightily at the plate with an average of .190. Also his defense, which is his one of his strengths normally, was so so. In just eight games at shortstop, he committed four errors, leading to a fielding percentage of .892.

At the plate, Jurickson collected four hits, walked five times, struck out four times and drove in three in twenty-one at bats.
Jurickson will be sent to Round Rock to start the season for sure. It is obvious that the Rangers want him to work on his game.
