Just as Jonathan Schoop started to find his groove an injury ruined his party. An MRI scan revealed that he has a partially torn PCL and sprained MCL in his right knee. The Orioles have placed him on the 15-day DL. Schoop suffered the injury Friday night when he tripped over first base in a 3-2 loss to Boston. He was also dinged up at second on a takeout slide by Pablo Sandoval earlier in the game

Anyhow, the Orioles won yesterday’s game in Fenway Park 4-1. Xander Bogaerts went 0 for 3 with a walk and a K.
Pedro Strop pitched in the eighth inning for the Cubs vs the Padres. He gave up a walk and struck out one and kept his ERA at the magical 0.00. The Cubs needed eleven innings to beat the Padres 7-6.
Andrelton Simmons went 1 for 4 as the Braves fell to the Blue Jays 6-5 in ten innings. The Braves turned five double plays and Andrelton was part of four: a 1-6-3, two 6-4-3 and one 4-6-3. Once again he made two nice defensive plays. One when he tracked down a fly ball in shallow left tield and kept Devon Travis from advaning to second base, and one when he made a sliding catch in shallow left center field. .
