Roster of Curaçao Neptunus Looks Like a Revolving Door
After the club acquired a lot of new players for the 2023 season, Curaçao Neptunus didn’t get much players from outside the club in this year’s transaction period. But quite a few players won’t be on the 2024 roster.
There is a positive note in Neptunus’ transaction period for the 2024 season. The club acquired only three players from outside the club and added two from its farm team, Tridents.
The three players the club acquired are:
RHP Koen Postelmans, middle infielder Jesse Aussems, and OF Kevin Dirksen.
Koen Postelmans left Oosterhout Twins to join the runner up of the 2023 Holland Series. Postelmans used to be a closer, but was also used as a starter in 2023. He had a total of six appearances in the past season, of which three starts. He recorded one save and posted a 3.31 ERA. He didn’t earn a win, but was tabbed with one loss.
Jesse Aussems, a former player of Amsterdam Pirates, played for RCH-Pinguïns in 2023. The middle infielder batted .280 in hundred-and-seven at-bats. Clearly, Aussems isn’t a power hitter as he collected four doubles and one triple with 15 RBI.
Kevin Dirksen comes from HCAW. The outfielder batted .289 with three dingers and ten doubles.
Neptunus will promote two players from its farm team, Tridents. LHP Tijn Frederikze, RHP Joost Terpstra (where have we heard that name before?) and C Keegan Pieternella.
Quite some players have left the club (or didn’t get a contract extension):
RHP Jayden GONESH (unknown
RHP Mike GROEN (DSS/Kinheim)
RHP Kevin KELLY (San Marino (Italian Serie A)
RHP Orlando YNTEMA (retired due to health issues)
C Tony KRUEGER (back to the USA)
SS John POLONIUS (retired)
OF Roger BERNADINA (unknown)
