Hoboken Pioneers @ Brasschaat Braves (5 – 1  ;  0 – 3)
This double header was a rematch of last year’s Belgian Series. This time though, the series HOB flagwas split. In game one, the Brasschaat did not stand much of a chance. They were kept in check by Bebee Brayden and Ben van Nuffel. Brayden pitched seven innings in which he allowed one run on five hits and three walks and struck out ten. Van Nuffel pitched two no-hit innings in which he allowed a walk and struck out one. The Braves pitching wasn’t helped, as the team committed four errors that led to two unearned runs.
In the first inning, the Hoboken Pioneers took a 2-0 lead when Dennis De Quint singled home Benjamin Goffaux from second base. With the bases loaded, Wesley Janssens reached base on a throwing error by the Braves’ shortstop, that allowed Dennis De Quint score the second run. In the bottom of the first, the Braves cut the lead in half on Axel Poesmans’ sac fly to center field, that drove in Raxon Martinez. Only in the fifth inning, Pioneers extended its lead when Kelvin Delgado singled home Wesley Janssens from second base. Still, Driessens had only one 1-2-3 inning. In the other innings he allowed one or two runners on base. The starting pitcher of the opponent, Kenny van den Branden, wasn’t able to stop the offense of the Braves. In five innings, he allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks, as he struck out five. Van den Branden has announced his retirement after this season. He will surely be missed by the Hoboken Pioneers.
After two scoreless innings, the Braves opened the score in the third inning. With Jamie Verheyleweghen at third base, Lucas Rizzi hit a sac fly to center field. With the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Lucas Rizzi hit a sac fly that drove in Raxon Martinez. In the ninth inning, Poesmans allowed two hits and struck out one. Kenny van den Branden took the loss.
Axel Poesmans was the best hitter for the Brasschaat Braves as he went 2 for 3 with a double.

Mortsel Stars @ Deurne Spartans (5 – 10  ;  0 – 5)
In a battle of the airport, the Deurne Spartans stayed at the right side of the score in both MOR flaggames. By the time the Mortsel Stars got on the board in game one, the Deurne Spartans had taken a commanding lead already. A single by Frank Alejandro Prieto Burgos drove in the opening run in the first inning. When Alexis Marquez stole second base, the catcher of the Stars committed a throwing error that allowed Marquez to score the second run. In the following four innings, Spartans scored four more runs. Only in the top of the sixth inning, Mortel got on the board on a wild pitch and a 4-3 groundout. A sac fly by Kevin Reyns in the top of the seventh inning drove in Harold Langezaal, so the Stars inched closer, but a four run eighth inning for the Spartans smashed their hopes of coming back in the game.
Eventually, the Stars scored two more runs in the top of the ninth.

Another series that was played on two days. On Saturday, the Brussels Kangaroos stayed at De Club – Brussels Kangaroos Baseball & Softball Clubthe right side of the score. The Kangaroos struck first. In the opening inning, a 6-3 groundout and a passed ball allowed the team from the Belgian capital to score twice.

A big fourth inning secured the win for the Kangaroos. With the bases loaded, José Gregorio Pérez Silva threw a wild pitch that allowed Alain Cedeño Daudinot to score. Luis Unda followed with a double to right field that drove in two, followed by a single by Jayde Thorne that drove in Luis Unda.
