A surprising move by Curaçao Neptunus. After the lost Holland Series, the club has decided not to continue the cooperation with manager Ronald Jaarsma. After five seasons, the club needs to look for a new manager.

Curaçao Neptunus approached Jaarsma at the end of the 2016 season, which caused quite a commotion as they did this during the playoffs in which Jaarsma’s team, L&D Amsterdam Pirates, faced Neptunus. As a result, L&D Amsterdam deactivated Jaarsma, who was Pirates’ third base coach, at once.
Under his helm, Neptunus won the Dutch championship in 2017 and 2018 but also won the European Champions League in the same years. The website of Neptunus stated that since 2018, the club hasn’t won any prize.
According to the website of Neptunus, the departure of Jaarsma coincides with the projected rejuvenation of the flagship team, which is intended to become successful again in the near future.
The board of the club is looking for a successor within the club but also outside the club. According to the website, the new manager will have access to a strong team that will get a new impulse due to some promising talents that will be added to the roster.
