The weather forecasts were not in favor of the tournament today. According the predictions, it would start to rain around 11.00. Luckily the rain started to fall about an hour later and eventually the game was called.

Olimpija Karlovac took an early lead in the first inning. Kruno Gojkovic led off and hit a 2-1 offering over the center field fence. A sac fly and a double led to three more runs. In the second, Karlovac struck even harder. An error, a bases-loaded walk, a double and another fielding error led to six more runs. So things started to look rather gloomy for the Vienna Wanderers. But they proved again that in baseball, it ain’t over until it’s over.
In the third inning, the Wanderers got on the board and got back in the game.
A single, a double, and a home run drove in five runs for the Austrians.
Relief pitcher Björn Ress started the fourth inning with walking the first two batters of Olimpija. Then the umpires decided to postpone the game. Eventually, with a 9-5 score in Karlovac’ favor, they called the game and it was moved to tomorrow 13.00 (1.00 PM) local time.
