A few weeks ago, you could read here about Dave Janssen earning player of the week honors in the ICCAC for his school Indian Hills Warriors. At the end of the season, things got even better for Dave.
Dave and his team won the region championship by beating Iowa Western Reivers 4-3 (loss), 6-2 (win), and 7-3 (win) and advance to the District finals.
But if that wasn’t enough, Dave earned the honor of being named the ICCAC’s best defensive player of the the year.
Dave had 343 putouts, one of only two Indian Hills players to have more than 100 to go along with a fielding percentage of .995. He threw out 17 runners on the season from behind home plate.
