Ronald Jaarsma adds another year

Local Rotterdam newspaper Algemeen Dagblad wrote that Ronald Jaarsma is adding another year as the manager of Curaçao Neptunus. 2021 will be his fifth year with the club.

Schermafbeelding 2020-10-15 om 19.24.56During the 2016 playoffs, Jaarsma, back then third base coach of L&D Amsterdam Pirates, was approached by Neptunus to become their coach. This lead to “some” struggles between Jaarsma and Pirates and Neptunus and Pirates.

Jaarsma started his tenure with the club with a Dutch championship and a European championship. Not too shabby to start with as a manager. In his first four years, Jaarsma won the double (Dutch championship and the European Championship) twice. Only in 2019, after having a 3-0 lead, Neptunus lost the Dutch championship to L&D Amsterdam Pirates.

According to the Algemeen Dagblad Jaarsma said: “The board of the club likes to continue, so I will enter my fifth year at the helm of Neptunus.”
