European Champions Cup 2018: A.S.D. Rimini and Curaçao Neptunus face each other in final

A Dutch-Italian final tomorrow as A.S.D. Rimini Pirates moved to the final as they beat Fortitudo Bologna 2-1 and Curaçao Neptunus beat Rouen Huskies 4-0 in the semis.
In a close game, Rimini stayed at the right side of the score. In a real pitching duel, Raul Ruiz earned the win after eight innings in which he gave up one unearned run on six hits and a walk as he struck out six. His opponent, Raul Rivero, lasted six innings and gave up two runs on eight hits and three walks as the struck out four.
Rimini took a rather early lead in the second inning after three consecutive singles that allowed Oscar Angulo to score the opening run.
Bologna’s answer didn’t come before the fifth when Aessadro Vaglio scored on Filippo Agretti’s single. But Rimini’s answer came in the bottom of the sixth. Federico Celli hit a leadoff double and advanced to third on Luis Ustariz’ single to left field. Celli score on Nathanael Batista’s single. Neither team did not come close to scoring more runs in the remainder of the game, so Rimini walked off the field as the victor.
Diegomar Markwell cruised through nine innings as he shutout the Rouen Huskies. In nine frames, Markwell gave up five hits and struck out two.
The offense of Neptunus did not collect many more hits than their French opponent but they were much more effective and took advantage of a couple of errors that led to two unearned runs.
Neptunus had taken an early lead in the first when Stijn van der Meer scored on a 5-3 groundout. In the fourth inning, Neptunus extended its lead with just one blow by Quentin de Cuba who homered to right field to give Neptunus a 3-0 lead. The fourth run was scored in the seventh when Stijn van der Meer scored on a throwing error.
So how respectable the performance of the Rouen Huskies was this week, the team never stood a chance against the reigning European Champion.
