De Glaskoning Twins 13 – 1 Hoofddorp Pioniers
De Glaskoning Twins got their revenge for the narrow loss vs Hoofddorp Pioniers on
Thursday. This time the team from Oosterhout put a monster score on the scoreboard. In fact, the three innings in which they scored a run, would have been enough to take the victory back to Oosterhout, but the lineup saw the ball very well today.
Already leading 2-0, the team jumped on pitcher Dion Steijl as they loaded the bases. Steijl was replaced by Ryan Oduber, but Oduber wasn’t able to keep Twins from scoring as he started with giving up a bases-loaded walk. Jarreau Martina followed with a single that drove in two more runs before Brian Biezen and Jarreau Martina executed a double steal which led to two more runs thanks to a 6-3 groundout by Ruar Verkerk and a single to left field by Sam Kennelly. If the race wasn’t already run yet, it was after the top of the ninth as Twins scored five more runs. Misja Harcksen cruised through seven innings in which he gave up one run on two hits and struck out thirteen (13!!) for the win. The loss
went to Dion Steijl, who lasted 5.1 innings in which he gave up five runs (four earned) on five hits and four walks. He also struck out three.
Best hitter for De Glaskoning Twins was Brian Biezen, who went 2 for 3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Most impact though had Jarreau Martina and Sam Kennelly who both drove in three runs.
DSS 0 – 9 Curaçao Neptunus
Another (easy) victory for Curaçao Neptunus as the Rotterdam based team keeps the
unbeaten status. A steady victory as Neptunus scored a run in the first, fourth and eighth inning, two in the fifth and four in the seventh inning.
Orlando Yntema cruised through seven innings as he struck out ten, gave up three hits and a walk.
The big inning for Neptunus came in the seventh inning when Gianison Boekhoudt doubled down the left field line with the bases loaded and drove in three runs. Another double by Darryl Collins drove in the fourth run for Neptunus.
Japanese import Riki Saito pitched the last two frames of the game and gave up a hit and a walk and struck out two.
The win went to Orlando Yntema, the loss to Sander Helmendach, who pitched 6.1 innings in which he gave up six runs on five hits and four walks and fanned two.

Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort 4 – 8 L&D Amsterdam Pirates
An easy victory for L&D Amsterdam Pirates as well. Despite the early lead and four-run
difference in the end, the game had an unexpected pitcher as a winner.
Robin Schel pitched needed eighty-four pitches to finish four innings in which he gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk as he struck out four.
The victory was a regular one as Pirates did not have a big inning. Three two-run innings and two-one run innings did it today.
Remarkable feat: Cityside Apartments Quick Amersfoort collected one base hit more than Pirates did but Pirates was much more effective as it scored eight times on ten hits while Quick Amersfoort scored four times on ten hits.
Maickel Rietel earned the win for Pirates as he pitched the seventh and the eighth frame
and gave up a hit and a walk and struck out one.
Zerzinho Croes and Max Clarijs were the best hitters as both went 2 for 4, drove in two runs and scored once. Max Clarijs hit a double though.
Silicon Storks 2 – 3 HCAW
A narrow escape for HCAW today. For the most part of the game, the club trailed but a
t a two-run rally in the eighth inning brought the victory to Bussum.
Silicon Storks took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Aldrich Guzman drew a walk, followed by a single by Philip Brandl. Joost van den Bergh then singled to right-center field to drive in Guzman for the opening run. A wild pitch by Kaj Timmermans allowed Brandl to extend the score to 2-0.
But in the next inning, HCAW cut the lead in half. Delano Selassa reached base on a throwing error and advanced to second on the error as well. After Selassa reached third on Roelie Henrique’s single, he was tagged out at third base when Vince Rooi drove the ball to third base. Eventually, Roelie Henrique scored from second base when Bryce Cherry singled to center field.
The decision came in the eighth inning. With runners on the corners, Bryce Cherry singled home Delano Selassa for the game-tying run. Bryce Cherry was caught stealing 1-4 and Roelie Henrique could score the winning run from third base on the play.
Kaj Timmermans earned the win after eight innings. He gave up two runs on six hits and two walks and fanned six. The loss went to José Moreno as he gave up the game-tying and winning run to HCAW.
