Euro League Baseball will start in 2016 but with a different format

Last Friday, nine members of the Euro League Baseball met in Amsterdam for the first winter meeting of the league.
All representatives decided to give the new league a go but with a different format than the original one.

In the original format there was a bi weekly four game schedule in which the games would be played on Monday through Thursday, but the clubs decided to shorten the season to three or four months and to play a weekly schedule of two games, that will be played on monday and tuesday or tuesday and wednesday. The new schedule is better to deal with for the Dutch clubs as Thursday is a regular day of competition. With the new schedule, the Dutch teams will be able to play their regular season games in their own competition too.

In a later stage, it will be decided which teams will participate. For the Netherlands L&D Amsterdam Pirates and Neptunus are stil in the picture. For France the teams that are projected to play are Rouen Huskies and Templiers de Sénar. For Germany Regensburg Legionäre, Bonn Capitals and Haar Disciples. For Italy Fortitudo Bologna and San Marino and for the Czech Republic Draci Brno.
