Solid debut Jair Jurrjens with OKC Dodgers

After a year of absence, Jair Jurrjens is back in US baseball. Yesterday Jair debuted with the Oklahoma City Dodgers. And what a debut it was. A solid start and plenty of run support earned him the win.

After several years of decline, Jair Jurrjens showed that he seems to be back during the 2017 World Baseball Classic as he pitched 11.1 innings for team Kingdom of the Netherlands. In those 11.1 innings, he gave up three runs on twelve hits (2.38 ERA). Jair Jurrjens
This performance earned him a minor league contract with the Dodgers.

Yesterday, Jair took the mound for the first time this season. The 31-year old pitcher from Curacao lasted six full innings vs the Iowa Cubs.

Jurrjens started the game by giving up a double to John Andreoli, but with the help of his offense, he could keep the Cubs from scoring as John Andreoli was caught in a 6-5-2-6 rundown between third base and home plate.

Jair cruised through the next four innings before he gave up a run in the sixth inning when Ian Happ homered to left field.

Thanks to plenty of run support, Jair earned his first win of the season. The OKC Dodgers won the game 12-1.
