wbc

A major blow for team Kingdom of the Netherlands. Due to an injury to his throwing arm/shoulder, Didi Gregorius will not participate in the semi-final later today.
At the request of the New York Yankees, the Curacaoan shortstop, who served as DH, has flown back to Tampa to let the meds of the Yankees take a look at his shoulder.

Due to this injury, manager Meulens now has to find a solution to fill the DH spot.
It remains to be seen how serious the injury is. MLB season will start in thirteen days.

Didi Gregorius drove in five runs, including a three-run homer in the top of the fourth inning to lead the Netherlands to a 12-2 victory over Israel in second-round action on Monday at the World Baseball Classic.
