Dutchies in MLB Spring Training
In today’s spring training games, a coulple of Dutchies made an appearance. Kenley Jansen pitched for the Dodgers, Ozzie Albies played again for the Braves and Juremi Profar played the Texas Rangers.
Kenley Jansen relieved Hyun-Jin Ryu in the third inning. It was the first appearance of Kenley this spring training. Apparently he is still looking for his groove as he gave up a run on two hits and did not strike out a hitter. Kenley got recorded two quick outs (6-3 and 4-3) but then gave up a run. After he gave up a double to Eric Young, Ben Revere hit an RBI triple to right field on a soft line drive. Eventually Kenley recorded a 5-3 out to get out of the inning.
In the sixth inning of the game between the Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals, Ozzie Albies entered the game, replacing right fielder Matt Tuiasosopo. Ozzie started the inning well as he recorded he first out when Mageuris Sierra grounded out 4-3.
In the next inning, Ozzie drew a four pitch walk but did not come close to scoring as Blake Lalli grounded into a 3-6-1 double play. In the ninth inning, Ozzie was the third out of the inning as he flew out to center field.
When both teams did not score in the ninth inning, a tenth was played. Neither team did score but Ozzie recorded the first and final out of the inning (both 4-3).
In the game between the Texas Rangers and the Oakland Athletics, Juremi Profar entered the game in the bottom of the seventh inning as he replaced first baseman Ronald Guzman.
In his sole at bat, in the eighth inning, Juremi doubled to center field and lifted his batting average of this spring training to .333. When Andy Ibanez doubled as well, Juremi scored the seventh run for the Rangers, who fell to the Athletics 8-7.
