Rangers do not oppose Profar’s WBC participation

According to the Duch American sports magazine Sport America, the Texas Rangers are opposed to the participation in the World Baseball Classic of four of their star players. The Arlington based club will send an appeal to Major League Baseball.

The Rangers had to deal with the invitation of eight of their players by their national baseball federations.

The club does not want to risk the health of Yu Darvish (Japan), Shin-Soo Choo (Korea), Elvis Andrus and Robinson Chirinos (Venezuela) as all four have a (more or less) injury riddled history.

The Rangers’ concern about the health of the four, is remarkable to put it mildly. Especially since Jurickson Profar has dealt with a nagging shoulder injury over the past two years. Eventually Profar had a correctional surgery in January of this year.

Recently the Curacaon utility player joined team Kingdom of the Netherlands for a set of friendly games vs team Samurai Japan.

So it looks like the Kingdom of the Netherlands can add a fourth player to the roster in Jurickson Profar, next to Andrelton Simmons, Jonathan Schoop and Xander Bogaerts.

Slowly the team starts to take shape.
