Binghamton Mets’ invite to sexual thing?
The Binghamton Mets, AA affiliate of the New York Mets in the Eastern League, tweeted a promotion the other day.

The intention was to advertise a nice promotion on a game day but the term they used for it has a kind of inappropriate meaning.
The B-Mets wanted to invite their fans to a nice promotion on which they could watch Netflix and have a relaxed night out at the ballpark. But what they did not know is that the term Netflix and Chill has a sexual context, meaning that someone wants a sexual relationship.
As soon as the club found out, the tweet was removed. But it was to late to keep it from going viral.
Sure the Binghamton Mets got some attention and that is what social media is about. But it is doubtful that this is the kind of attention that they wanted. 🙂
Here is a youtube clip that explains the term, though not everyone is aware of the meaning.
The next time if the B-Mets want to tweet or make a Facebook post, they should hire someone who knows the internet slang, because this was rather painful.
