Mavericks hold yard sale (sort of)
The High Desert Mavericks, A Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers in the California League, held a Stadium Bazaar day in Stater Bros Stadium yesterday.
In the visitors’ clubhouse, the club gave the residents of Adelanto and the surrounding cities the opportunity to add some unique memorabilia to their collections.
Highlighted in the sale were autographed bats, game-used bases, player-worn cleats, broken bats, baseballs but also furniture, sound equipment, chairs, tables, televisions, computer accessories, pet supplies and much more.
The stated autographed bats, game-used bases, player-worn cleats, broken bats, baseballs make sense to me. the furniture, sound equipment, chairs, tables, televisions,
computer accessories also do make sense, but pet supplies? What on earth do the Mavericks have pet supllies for? Unless they are selling the feeding-trough of their mascot Woolly Bully.
I am curious if items that belonged to the several Dutchies (players from the Netherlands, Curacao and Aruba) were sold. Recently Juremi Profar (younger brother of Jurickson) played for the Mavericks. In 2014, Lars Huijer played a part of the season for the Mavs, when it still was a Mariners’ affiliation. In 2011 Kalian Sams played in Adelanto and late Greg Halman played 67 games with the Mavs in 2008.
